Everything you need to know about podcast advertising with PodSearch®.
Getting Started
There are two main methods for buying podcast ads - Ads on Individual Podcasts and Audience Targeting. For buying ads on individual podcasts, there are host-read or producer/announcer-read ads that run in an episode or across the entire catalog of episodes, reaching listeners of that particular podcast only. For Audience Targeting, you can run a pre-produced ad specifically to listeners who match your desired target criteria (geography, demographics, interests, job/industry, language, etc.), regardless of which podcast they are listening to when the ad is served. PodSearch specializes in both ad buying methods and we can recommend the best approach for your target audience and KPIs.
If you have a defined audience and a compelling product/service, podcast advertising can be a strong channel for both performance and brand growth.
We partner with global, national, and local/regional brands to launch or scale podcast advertising campaigns, as well as agencies looking to expand their offerings to clients with podcast advertising. Our experience encompasses industries across both B2C and B2B, and we tailor each campaign to align with specific goals and KPIs - from driving direct response to building brand awareness.

Strategy & Show Selection
We analyze audience demographics, content alignment, engagement, and historical performance to recommend shows most likely to reach your target audience and perform against your KPIs.
Yes — we can work with any podcast that accepts sponsorships, not just a single network or a limited set of shows.

It depends on your audience and KPIs. We’ve placed ads across business, health, comedy, parenting, finance, sports, true crime, and many other categories.
Yes — podcast audiences are often highly niche, which allows for precise targeting through show selection. We can also utilize audience targeting methodologies that deliver ads only to podcast listeners who match the target profile, regardless of the show to which they are listening.
Ad Formats & Messaging
Host-read ads are delivered by the podcast host in their own voice, making the ads feel like a personal recommendation rather than a traditional ad.
Listeners trust the host, which leads to stronger engagement and higher response rates.
Yes — our team will provide a creative brief form to be completed, then we’ll use the messaging points to tailor effective copy for the podcasts for your review.
Most host-read ads are 30–60 seconds, giving brands more time to explain their product or service compared to digital or social media ads.
Performance & ROI
In addition to data collected by the advertisers themselves using tools such as Google Analytics or Shopify, PodSearch utilizes a number of technologies that can directly attribute the connection between a listener hearing the podcast ad and then responding, even if that action is not done directly.
Yes — many clients use podcasts to generate leads, sign-ups, demo requests, purchases, and subscriptions.
Podcast advertising can be incredibly effective across a wide range of KPIs, including but not limited to:
• Cost per acquisition (CPA)
• Site visits

The first wave of response usually comes within 24–72 hours of an ad releasing, but full performance develops over weeks as listeners hear ads multiple times.
ROI varies by industry, audience, and offer, but many clients find that podcast advertising becomes one of their most efficient channels over time.
Campaign Management
PodSearch is a full-service podcast advertising agency that can handle every part of the campaign process for you, from proposals and campaign set-up, to optimizations and scaling, and even accounting reconciliation. You can be as involved as you like, and we typically recommend weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly status report meetings with our team to review campaign schedules and reporting.
Typically, campaigns can be launched within 2-4 weeks after the proposed plan is approved.
Yes — we continuously monitor performance, optimize placements, and adjust schedules as needed.
We expand into similar shows, increase placements on strong-performing podcasts, and refine targeting based on performance data.
Differentiation
We are not a podcast network. PodSearch is independent and represents the buyer — not shows — so our recommendations are unbiased. We are not limited, as podcast networks are, to booking a certain set of podcasts.
We focus specifically on podcast advertising and use data-driven show selection and optimization instead of just relying on the largest networks.
